Music Gone Crazy?!

Believe it or not but it seems an awful number of my tracks are not what they are titled. Before my whole NTLDR (see that thread in this forum) issue, all songs matched what they said in the playlist. Now about half of them give me a "Cannot play due to a codec missing or is corrupt" message and the other half are TOTALLY not what they are.

For example, in my christmas playlist i made last year, Jingle Bells by Jim Reeves is now apparently Eminem - Stan.... when I go to play the selective mp3 itself, it does indeed come out as Eminem. So all my songs that play, THEY HAVE THE WRONG FILENAME AND TAGs... HOW?! Bear in mind iTunes manages the tags so I think they have something to do with this along with my hard-drive going all exorcist on me.

iTunes stores its tags/information in a single file located in your iTunes music folder. Try deleting it and see what happens? Alternativly, just reinstall :)

Re: Music Gone Crazy?!

Well it's ok. I've got half of my playlists back.

The problem was this - apparently my itunes library file was damaged but itunes was not telling me this. I moved it out of the directory and then put it back and the error message popped up saying the library is damaged and cannot be imported - lol for some reason it renames it "itunes music library (damaged)" which is beyond me.

Anyway, I got half of my playlists off my ipod with an app called SharePod. So it's all good in the hood.

Thanks for all the help guys :- )
