Black ICE/Tok'ra
 

I was just wondering what all the old members of BlackICE and Tok'ra were up to... also wondering if any of the HC were thinking about the possibility of reforming for R10, or even mid R9...

Don't know if this is the right place to post, but it's a discussion about an alliance, so I thought it's right...

I was in Tok'ra for about 2 weeks and i worked with balckice gal peeps in r7, sa maybe i aint the greatest to reply..but i did :p

And as for now..well..read my sig :)

I merged Division 6 (my alliance, which I led during round 4) into Tok'Ra during the wait between rounds 4-5.

As such, I ended up as Tok'Ra HC.

I'm not exactly sure what everyone is up to, but I know a few of the old Tok'Ra and D6 players still play PA. I do, Revol does, Gemma does, not sure about the general masses, most of them seem to have vanished long ago.

As for reforming, there doesnt seem to be much point does there, if the universe will only be 2-3k of planets, theres no real chance for members, and as such, no real chance of anything vaugely resembling success.

DP: very much around.

The majority of 'blackice' are still around in some form. Cambel lurks these forums etc........

Can't see Tok'ra or Blackice making a comeback, it was briefly discussed in #blackice, but tbh there wouldn't be enough interest without an influx of new players.

i'm currently without an alliance.................

EDIT: haven't seen raekw0n in a while, Obliterate is still about, the young Cat still comes on irc, haven't seen vae in a while, Ahriman is around :) (although not an actual member definetely part of the Blackice community)

Dauthi, Obliterate, Obiwan and Cambel are the only Blackice members that i know are definately playing, everyone else has either gone AWOL or just retired from PA.

If there was a large influx of players in r10 i wouldnt mind being involved in a reformation of Ice seeing as i am allianceless, but i doubt it will happen.

there is sometimes life in #tokra.

There's more life in #blackice these days :p

Vae seems to have basically 'quit' IRC and the internet in general, in favour of her hectic real life - she logs on very occaisionally.

Garshaw joined ViruS before the round started and I've not seen him since, so perhaps he was pounded into oblivion.

Oh yeah and Dave: what was the highest member count of division 6? I Rember someone saying it once reached 500+ members??? ne truth in that?

Well, once long ago I thought that your pure member count was king. We officially had 370 members, but of them, only about 100 were IRC active, and of them, only perhaos 50-60 would be on daily.

P2P killed out 100 'active' people down to about 30, and as such, there really wasnt much point continuing as we were.

Im sure Gemma can tell you more, she's still all for re founding D6 heh.

I dont play at all this round (kinda gave up when ice stoped) i think we are a long way off reforming (tbh whent we started ice we had abiut 6/7 ppl) no Rakeone Phill Xill ambereye would it be the same?

when phil left pa it has never been the same, for me anyway. and without somone like xil at the helm it would'nt work, when the ppl who wanted to start it up again were talking about, i asked who would lead it, non wanted to. it seems this kind of alliance needs a strong leader to take charge and lead the pe0ns to glory. look what happend when garshaw went nutty. i think the days of ice and tokra are no more, nothing i seem to do even compares to the greetness of round 4 tokra, or the days of round 6 in ice channs trying to get the alliance of the ground. where ever i go and who ever i meet i compare them to tk and ice ppl, and nothing or noone was better than they were. round 8 i gave up the hope of finding somthing as good or better than ice/tk and left pa, am back now and still nothing is around(not to put my current alliance down or anything). for me tk/ice is a good memory somthing i whished which last till the end of my pa days, but then we all know **** happens

It was the best community i was ever part of - i really feel every single member was important, everyone knew everyone else - fantastic defence system, (me remembers when i was the only DC heh :) Raekw0n (+ sum of my ideas) built a pretty good military structure - I can't remember a time when i was online as a DC and not covering an attack :)

I literally had people BEGGING me to pick them to send defence :) blackice as an alliance was every DC's dream :)

In my opinion Black Ice did have the makings to be a big new alliance. It wasn't spawned out of other alliances or was previously a battle group of any other alliance. We did have many of the things in place to make it. Unfortunately the dwindling of player numbers meant that we had a hard time recruiting. Ultimately we were an alliance too many.

Unless R10 increases player count a lot I don't think Black Ice will be back. I might though.

My camel is green was in Hebrew I think, we had it in many languages. Our philosophy was that we were meant to be a fun alliance and having that as our official siggy meant we had something over the big boys. And the next time they launched 1mil ships at us we could shout back Efru Ponkeh No Yeh Bun.

We WERE a big alliance (6 top 10 gals was it - or more.....) + the flagship gal in Top 30 place \o/

it was spawned from tokra, /me rememebers the weeks of sitting in tk chann with 5-7 other ppl deciding what to do next, if u remmber reading the history u would know this.

imho blackice was a very fun alliance which were very good with defence... problem was most of our attacks S**ked a**... this kept the big public from knowing about us..

i came in just before the icicles wing start to develop. but about the reforming of blackICE indeed we need a big flow of new players and a good propaganda machine at the early start of next round.. and indeed we would need some good leadership...

my time as PA addict kinda ended at the time the ICE imperium collapsed... ICE will be in my heart forever had a great time there. think i found meself a good new home tho. members that still idle a lot are: myself (Influence), Dauthi, JUDO (as a community member he belongs in this list), Ahriman, Der_Untermensch, cambel, obliterate, obiwan, lil cat and some more ppl i tend to forget their names off

Sorry for dragging up a 5 year old post, but I was wondering if anyone was still around from r4-5 Tokra and r6 blackice. I'm feeling nostalgic :( Zither obliterate xillah dauthi obiwan raekw0n jc smeg!! ice was the best ally ever tbh. Hope someones still around from those days, post here if so.

But yeah, at least the tok'ra people I used to talk to have moved on to other things and are rarely(if ever) on irc. Miss you revol, sokar, vae and DP <3

Indeed it was :( I must've been like 14 when we were in ICE. Which was the best ally ever tbh. I've never had so much fun in pa as in r6 and 7. I should've quit while I was ahead. :rolleyes:

Hi BTW Chef. I wouldn't have slammed you and F-crew so hard back in the day if I knew you had anything to do with ICE :p
