should xan get rd 8 stats for rd9.5?
 

Given that there is a full tech tree, i think xan receiving rd8 stats would be quite fair.

No.

The whole point of toning down the xand stats was because they were too powerful in a random round (quite why they were knocked down so much in a private round is another question..).

at leasrt a few ppl would go for them
atm 50 % of universe will go terra and only 5 % xan imho

But as Spinner said they are concentrating on R10 and cant afford to make any changes for R 9,5

No screw that, i say a majority are thinking Terran, a bunch of those who think Cath atm will change their minds while its still time, some think Zik, and quite a lot go for Xan simply because they were great r8.

If they hadn't neutered Xan after r8, DE wouldn't be an issue.


I say change back to r8 stats; the problem was Overburn, not the ship stats.

Xan bashs when roiding... When defence is scarce, bashing races gets better, and normal roiding races (cath) gets worse.... This is a large part of the reason Xands did good r8.

This round; xands were underpowered, any stat whore can tell you that.... (even though there were a few big xands, i'm fairly convinced they were quite underrepresented in top50-1000)

This round we won't have overburn, and we've seen how underpowered they were last round.
Hence bring back R8 stats. (or *atleast* undo some of the changes) ... as it stands, its ridicilus IMO

xans have other + in a full random universe.
also a bit lower prices would be nice

xan were good this round too, its not only their nerfed firepower, their early eta 7 attacking and late mil scans are there advantage. But i agree with full tech tree those advantages are gone, else xans are easy targets for every race even cath :)

Give xans round 8 stats for frigs and bigger, but keep the round 9 stats for the smaller ships. Defensively xans are too weak, for which the bigger ships might compensate. Offensively I think xans shouldn't be too strong. It should be a difficult race to play.

It's an easy race to play if you make them too strong: xans nowadays only send a lot of ships, calcing is unnecessary most of the time. Personally I think the xan fast fleet is too strong. Their eta advantage makes it very hard to defend against them. Now they are strong enough to attack almost any player 20-30% of their seize. They often don't need to play opportunistic at all. And that's what a xan is suppost to do. Xans are supposed to attack a cath with his Cr/Bs fleet eta 9 away form home. :-)

The reason that xand stats were altered from R8 to R9 was because xands were too powerful. What is the point in having four races if one of them makes up 2/3 of what you actually tend to see floating around?

I'd like to see a good balance of races for R9.5. Chances are we'll see an increase in xand and terran at the expense of zik and cathaar as this round is going to be random, but hopefully not to the extent we saw in R8.

As for overburn, that's a totally different kettle of fish.

Xan costs so much and have so little armour its unbeleivable tbh

Ditch the other 3 races . hey why not just have a cpl of ships only like a ship with a big gun thats cheap and hits everything !! we could also have a cheap emp ship that freezes everything, now that would be easy .
