Well.... it appears my uni has decided to block IRC ports and now I can't FKING access IRC or trillian!!!

tried different servers for PA and other servers and I get the same thing.

Any know a list of possible ports I can try?

You could try httptunnel I guess, should be sufficient for IRC. Ports depend on what ports are open on the servers you're trying, which for NG is 6667-7000 and 8080 I *think* though I'm sure someone will clarify that.

Ask your uni. There is no legitimate reason to block ports that you would use in your own free time [except the fact its their network].

Well, I use internet from my computer science building, rules include no IRC use at all so, um... I don't have any reason to be on IRC using these comps.

I'd nuke the sys admin room if they did that. :p

Have you tried connecting through port 8080? Thats the one that works here.

well... actually, it is working now, I have no idea what was up before.

but everything wasn't working back then.

And now, everything is fine.
