R71: Incoming stats
 
The following is based on data about fleet launches provided by the PA team.

There is a difference in the data displayed below and the data on history page, in the stats below:
  • alliance = alliance at launch time
  • only fleets counted which landed on or before the final tick

In the output below:
  • the rows represent the number of incs an alliance received
  • the columns represent the number of hostile fleets an alliance launched

Add in that Butcher could have hit Ult but instead chose to hit the people hitting ult, which was one of reasons we stopped hitting ult.

Maybe if Kittenz/fang/rainbows didn't magically start launching on pen/ct/nd each time that pen/ct/nd hit ult, the round would have been different.

What's the problem with kittenz, fang, bows hitting pingu, nd, ct? It's a war game and incomings belong to the game like attacks. Are you suggesting that the round would have been better in any way if no one attacked pingu, nd and ct?

Would have been better for me, the buggers fc'd me on penultimate tick!

But no, that wasn't my point.

From my perspective of being in CT this round, we got hardly any incoming.
The only time we did was when we were hitting Ult.

Even though our attack was shocking and our defence not much better, still none of kittenz/pen etc would hit us unless we were off hitting Ult.
And if we are all saying that Ult is so much better than us (they are) how can we be expected to fight Ult when ult's puppies are hitting us too.

I don't mind losing (well I do but that is another story) and Ult were clearly so much better than anyone else, but what I do mind is people like butcher, who claim it was down to nd/ct/pen that Ult won. That simply isn't true. Ult won because they had enough puppies willing to support them and when you look at alliance sizes, it was about = on both sides, with Ult having superior activity and dedication.

Actions speak louder than words. If you say you want the top alliance to be hit, and then you hit the alliances doing exactly that, then don't be surprised if people come to the conclusion you didn't actually want the top alliance to be hit.

So the fact I wasn't hitting peng or CT but you took it on yourself to hit us just before hitting ult, then you moan that when your hitting ult I hit you back maybe act differently before you make your moves. Nd did the smart thing organised nap with me why didn't CT or penguin think about that before they engaged on ult, I would have accepted atleast 1 of your naps can't gaurentee I would have agreed to both 1 ally was alot more nasty to Kittenz then the other. Just think about it next time sadly politics is an integral part of game so if you choose to attack someone don't expect not to be hit back just cause your hitting ult.

We DO defend, we are just terrible at it and have no dcs. Our def therefore is both not our strong point in terms of number sent, and is a bit disorganised. But if you look at these stats you can see that we sent as many def fleets as the non ult alliances. Hardly not defending.
If you are taking it that way the only other alliance that did def apart from Ult was faceless.

Someone lend us some DCs and we will compete! :D

yes we have, we were in the same gal a few rounds back and had it then... though a few rounds back might now mean 10 rounds or so, I lose track very quickly.

This is complete and utter trash. CT & Kitten kept hitting each other's galaxies. Unfortunately it was hard to avoid hitting both but especially Kittenz simply because Kitten had so many forts.

ND NAPing KittenZ is perhaps the biggest reason for the "anti Ult block" failed.
While they took naps with FL/Norse/KittenZ, the other tags in the block had to take their incommings. You also claimed that ND had conviced KittenZ to hit BowS.

GM can keep going on with "BowS abandoned the block, thats why EVERYONE had to NAP Ult", but its quite clear that we wouldnt have the resources to fight a 2-3 front war with KittenZ ptargetting BowS, Norse trying to FC our planets, and us sending attack fleets at Ult.

So far as p3n was concerned we already considered Kittenz to be on Ult's side from having hit us during our first clashes with Ult. More effort could have been put into persuading them to switch but that is not only Gm's fault.

Indeed you are right - Gm did step up to fight Ult and I do respect that initial decision.

When I heard Gm had done a deal with Ult & Ult were going to give App a good farming I thought, 'damnit, we can dine tonight'. Then around 30mins after I hear the deal was for like 350 ticks until pt900 securing Ult the win. I nearly fell off my rocking chair.

I was in the Anti Ult channel genuinely trying to help the Anti Ult alliances. I was forced to NAP Ult due to fighting Norse/Apprime & Later Bows with a 30man tag. Apprime were easy. We built for that. Norse & Bows mad these FI waves uncoverable. If we had FR incommings from Ult at that time we would have had -30% nights. Not -35% like Advantix's Norsemen had from 1 tag incommings :banana::banana: - Also I would like to say I was even trying to FC astores while they came home from deffin Ult. Didn't see CT/ND/p3ng doing this. Although props to p3ng helping me FC Bows' After which they didn't attack with FRDE again hehehe.


Funny as FL and CT same amount of incs all round. What put my nose out a bit is that Gm didn't do any relations after the Ult deal with Ult friends. Why not? Instead when CT finally got hit he lost the plot and exploded (verbally).

Overall I thought the stats were impressive. Every attack class had it's pro's. I would like a re-run really with a slight buff to CO & DE.

It was a good round anyhow. Far too much time spend doing PA though :salute:

Dorf the thing is. Yes your statement is right.

However you have been making many points saying why allies shouldn't gang on top ally, i.e. Ult. If CT/ND/p3ng were not hitting VGN. VGN would have been farmed to shit by Ult. Same as HR. Same as every ally that isn't Ult or their pre round allies (asta)

CBA I exploded verbally because i was the only one sticking up for you when everyone else quit the channel you were in, you were constantly giving it the big man, being in kittenz channel, how you got them to stop hitting norse and hit CT instied as "CT could handle it". Yes CT could handle kittenz incs but not with fang in tow...

You played both sides trying to fence while giving your constant words of wisdom, leaks and spreading lies about block members. There was only a so long i could endure it!

Demort, some alliances you don't need to nap to be friends, unfortunately it seems that kittenz was not one of those alliances. Constant incs from you while we fought ultores, then greencat lies and hostility from us gal raiding... you turn to ptargeting us for ultores. CT should of put a lot more incs on kittenz before the last two days!

How you can even seriously make a statement like that is way beyond me. It used to be rounds like that 7-8 allies on Ult and after Ult was defeated. The small tags in that block would get farmed into the dust by that same block. There is litterally no win in making a block too big early on.

Thing is by late round all those alliances like HR/VGN been farmed by those block members while receiving near to no incoming from Ult. Ofcourse they wont have a reason to help the alliances that gave them the majority of their incoming.

Second tier alliances are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they roid sideways (each other), they effectively help you. If they roid downwards, they effectively help you. And if they try to roid upwards, they either fail (on their own, effectively helping you) or grant you the moral high ground (if they block up, and they might still fail). Must be nice!

Superpowers don't stop winning until they stop caring, and Ultores seems to have a uniquely long attention span.

The only counter I can think of is a round-long agreement that every time you go above 300 average roids, you get 5 alliances on you.

And then again the next round.

Simple fact is that ult is not a bunch of twats politically so by tick 800 people are still willing to work with them, where as rest of you have lied and backstabbed everyone possible and are not viable partners.


Also..... everyone else is desperate to win at all costs, Ult have won enough that it either happens or it doesn't.

It's called Apprime, and they aren't.

Once again simple reason why even 3/4/5 on 1 you lose to ult is that they play you all off against each other, you just aren't active enough and your dcs aren't agar3s.

Norseless wasnt that far behind Ult in terms of activity and fleet movement last round, they only suffered because they were managed and runned by a bunch of lunatics with no idea how to work together.

What i meant that if such a "merger" was to happend under diffrent leadership, they would be able to compete with Ult.
Instead we will end up with a bunch of tier 2 tags in CT/p3ng/BowS/BF/KittenZ

Don't you think Ultores approaching this from a position of military strength affects their options somewhat? Why should it matter what someone has done previously if you've got shared goals/benefits from an agreement?

I just think that Ultores play the long game best. They know that they can win the round in the last 300 ticks or the first 300, depending on the way the chips fall. They always have options. They play according to what happen and take each proposal on merit instead of tying themselves down to line of politics early on. Other alliances start with a goal of beating ultores and this need to beat them clouds their judgement when making political choices. They go for shirt term gains and end up out of options coming into the final straight. Wether it's CT or pen or nd or whoever they make the same short sighted choices in order to gain a minimal advantage early on and it comes back to haunt them as the ticks run out.

As far as ult mindset they have won 10 (?) Times in 20 rounds. They don't seem to mind now if they go a few rounds of just competing, because the core is tight and enjoys just playing. Wins happen or they dont, they have that luxury of waiting to add to their tally. Everyone else is consumed by being 1st
