It's Hammer Time

A murder trial is about to begin in Stockton-on-San-Joaquin.

This is being prosecuted by another attorney in my office.

The defendant is accused of having beaten a couple of family members to death with a hammer.

One of the wits in the office suggested to the attorney that she should play "It's Hammer Time" by MC Hammer. ( An old rap song for the young among you.)

A small chuckle was had at this witicisim.

Yesterday, a group of prospective jurors was brought to the courtroom for jury selection.

Guess who was on the panel?

Yep.

MC Hammer, himself.

He was defered until a later date as he had a contract which would have been breeched if he had been required to sit at this time.

I will always be very very fond of you as a friend.

I will always (and i advise you to do the same my friend) defer to, love and adore The Lady xxxxx (Edited because it is not right and never right to speak of a lady behind her back).

But I will never understand prosecutor mentality. The Defendant is a human being you know ...

Gallows humor. Very common in the states.

Oakland is in the next county over from me, as is Fremont.

About seven years ago MC Hammer moved to Tracy a town twenty miles west of Stockton and about thirty miles east of Fremont. It is near the county line but on our side. I was unaware he was a resident until this happened.

For the record, there's no MC Hammer song by the name of "Hammer Time". There is, however, "U can't touch this", which features the phrase "hammer time". It's his biggest hit, of course.

SEE, IF CALIFORNIA DIDN'T HAVE SUCH STRICT GUN LAWS, THE (victim\killer) COULD HAVE (defended themselves\killed them quicker).
