Traceroute Related Question
What is the significance of the number of hops to destination? I know the number tells me how complex the network map structure is but is that it?
And yes, I have looked through Google but it's not clear. Thanks. |

the more hops, the longer ( generally ) it takes for a packet to get there as it has to traverse each hop. The total time being the sum of times for each hop.
its like how a train from A to Z is faster when it doesnt have to stop at B,C,D,E, etc along the way |
